Yesterday, I had the privilege of hanging out with@sanstis and @tmsruge at the Women of Kireka project outside of Kampala. We had a great time chatting about community-driven development, improving access to banking for low-income families, and all manner of other subjects. You can check out pictures of the women’s beadwork here.
Kudos Siena and Women of Kireka for your hard work and resilience!!
I’m not one to wear much jewelry, but I’ve always been drawn to jewelry made from upcycling materials. And so when I saw the work of Women of Kireka I fell in love with the whole line. It was really hard to choose just one piece, but I chose The Beatrice and I really love it. I get compliments on it all the time, and of course I always have to tell the story about the company, as I really think that consumers today really want to know where and how things are made. And of course, I have a real connection to Uganda so all the more reason to become a Women of Kireka customer.
